Seedling compost tin

We are starting work on giving our greenhouse a make over, which I am super excited about! I have been using it to grow lots of flowers for the summer but with its wonky floor and leaking roof it is not ideal.

I want it to be a working greenhouse but also to be a place I want to be in, so I have started working on a few craft and upcycled projects for it in my new garden colour palette of lilac, white grey and aqua.

First up is the old bread tin that I never used for bread, but is a perfect size for me to keep my seedling compost in. I am unsure at this stage whether to put a label on the front ?!?

Here's how I made over my old bread tin...

1 Tin

How-to step by step

  • Old bread tin

    Step 1

Make sure your tin is clean, dry and free of grease. Then simply spray paint it. I like to do lots of thin coats leaving time for it to dry in between to get a lovely even coat without drips,

  • Compost tin

    Step 2

When completely dry, fill with compost.
