Today on Etsy finds I want to introduce you to Abby T Pottery owned by Abigail Tonks.
Abigail began throwing pots when she was a teenager. After completing a Major in German at college, she filled her early twenties doing every sort of odd job you could imagine from working at a bank to hosting wine tastings, but nothing ever felt right, even the jobs that were supposed to be "fun". So she started her little Etsy shop which has grown from strength to strength and now she works full time in her studio at home.
"All of my colorful pots are hand thrown and glazed by me in my little Randolph, VT, studio. I take my photos, list my items, and ship my own packages, too. If you love a mix of modern and rustic style, you have come to the right place."
I love her berry coloured Handmade Stoneware Perforated Colander in Violet, this bowl was hand thrown from smooth white stoneware, and later meticulously hand perforated and glazed in a transparent violet.
Little Birdie Garlic Keeper, this sweet lidded jar has lots of hand drilled holes to keep your garlic fresh and sprout free without refrigeration. She threw this piece on the wheel from white stoneware and added a plump little bird in place of the knob. This piece has been glazed in creamy white.
Handmade Stoneware Perforated Berry Colander // Fruit Bowl in Eggshell, she threw this bowl from speckled stoneware and later meticulously hand perforated and glazed it in creamy eggshell white. It has two handles for easy carrying, and will provide you with the ideal way to wash and keep your summer berries and fresh fruits, giving you excellent drainage and aeration. It comes with a separate saucer for catching any extra rinse water, how good is that!
Pair of Ginormous Hand Thrown Pottery Mugs in Lavender, which are beautiful hand thrown stoneware mugs glazed in a translucent lavender. These cups are generously sized and will hold roughly 16-18 oz. so they're perfect for a great, big cup of coffee or tea, yet they are thrown with thin walls, so they feel light and graceful in your hands.
