Tin can plant pots

I love my vintage bird cages, but trying to find pots in the right colour to sit inside them is virtually impossible.

So I decided to make my own using some tin cans and PlastiKote's outdoor spray paint in blue lilac.

I love how they have turned out and I have now hung my birdcage on my newly painted fence to add a splash of colour and a touch of pretty.

4 Plant pots

How-to step by step

  • Drill holes in base of can

    Step 1

Start by drilling holes in to the base of the tin cans, so that the water can drain out.

  • Spray painted tin cans

    Step 2

Spray paint tin cans and fill with compost

  • Bird cage planter

    Step 3

Fill with plants and place inside a birdcage planter, for extra pretty style.
