Pretty pastel pine cones

This has to be one of the cheapest, cute decorations I have made this year. Just simply collect pine cones from your local woods, park etc. wash them in soapy water and leave to dry. Then paint them in shades of colours to match your Christmas decor, I used matt emulsion tester pots of paints from my local DIY store. I also PVA glued a few and sprinkled them in coarse glitter to give them an icy effect.

How-to step by step

    Step 1

Start by washing or dusting the pine cones to ensure they are clean and dry.

  • Pastel pinecones

    Step 2

Then simply grab an old paint brush and paint the pine cones, making sure to get into all the nooks and crevices. Leave to dry. Apply more coats as necessary. To add glitter simply brush on a little PVA glue and sprinkle with glitter. Leave to dry.
