Pretty neon egg cups

A couple of Easter's ago I painted some wooden egg cups in pretty pastels, they were a quick and easy craft that worked really well as table settings, I later updated them with gold acrylic paint.

So as part of my "neon blush" Easter table setting I wanted to add some pretty neon egg cups, so I made my own, by painting them with white and fluorescent paint. I also added decorative stripes of washi tape and neon ribbon.

6 Egg cups

How-to step by step

  • Painting egg cups

    Step 1

Carefully paint the inside of three wooden egg cups with neon pink paint and the other three with neon yellow paint and leave to dry.

  • Neon egg cups step 2

    Step 2

Place Egg cup upside down and following the instructions on the spray paint, carefully spray the wooden egg cup until you have an even coat of paint and the original colour of the egg cup is no longer visible. Leave to dry.

  • Neon egg cups step 3

    Step 3

Wrap washi tape round top of egg cups in stripes. Paint a thin layer of modge podge over the washi tape, leave to dry. Tie ribbon round egg cup and secure with a bow.
