Pretty Coin Purse Sewing Tutorial

Today I am delighted to be sharing my first sewing tutorial from the collection of gifts I made my nieces and nephews this past Christmas. As this week I have been sharing all the inspiration and design sketches for Molly's Pretty Pastel collection I decided to start with the pretty coin purse that uses four different pretty printed fabrics from Tilda.

You can access the free Pattern by clicking the 'Free Coin Purse Pattern Download' in the what you will need section below.

I hope you enjoy my fully illustrated step by step tutorial for how to sew a coin purse below including an illustrated 'What you will need' fabric section.

See my HOW TO MAKE A COVERED BUTTON WITH A BUTTON KIT technique for a quick and easy way to cover your self cover buttons in fabric.

Fold seam over so that the outer and lining pieces are together with wrong sides facing. Baste around the perimeter using a 3mm (1/8”) seam allowance. Edge stitch just above seam so stitching is on top half (ie the piece with the pom pom trim on). Stitch along seamed top edge using 1cm (3/8″) seam allowance to secure in place
