MDF Bedside Table Makeover

A while back back my Dad asked if I had use for a bedside cabinet, a friend of his was getting rid of it and my Dad knows me so well that he had kept it incase I could find a use for it. 'Ooh! I will have a look when I next visit, if it isn't too big, it might be perfect for my Summer House". Needless to say I brought it home with me as I knew it would fit perfectly!

After giving it a good clean to remove any dirt or grease, I removed the handle and with my new favourite Wildlife Matt spray paint from Valspar, which is a primer and top coat in one I gave it a new look. I love how it turned out and am so happy I finally found a use for the lovely vintage looking bird door knob my elder sister gave me.

How-to step by step

  • Bedside cabinet - before makeover

    Step 1

Start by making sure your MDF furniture is clean and dry.

  • Spraypainting cabinet

    Step 2

Remove all hardware you don't want spray painted and place your furniture on an old sheet or cloth. To get an even coat of paint, sweep the can horizontally and vertically past the object as you spray. For the best finish, apply several thin coats of paint.
