Grandma's

Before I went to Gothenburg I did a bit of research in to what shops I wanted to visit. Top of my list was Grandma's...

"One weekend in January 1996, we sat at home in Kinna and saw on the news that there was a fire in the center of Gothenburg - it took a while before we realized it was the house next to our store fire raged. The first thought was that we were lucky to come through but after work and renovations meant that we were surrounded by scaffolding for a long time to come. It then felt like a minor disaster, however, was the beginning of a regeneration of the area around our street Hay Street and the whole area around Gothenburg wonderful covered market. It was a tough few years with scaffolding and cordoned off streets outside the window but did work well for our part of the city once it was klart.Vi got shortly thereafter offer to expand our retail space with a second floor and we did not hesitate for a second. Our little shop with a floor space of 100 square meters would now be able to get 4 times as large. Trowel Blades and paint cans soon filled our days and in the spring of 2000 we had the inauguration of our "new" store. Where we are today and it feels like a just enough room for our business. We thrive in our store at the now lovely Vall Street with its cobblestones and its cozy shops. You are warmly welcome to visit us."
