Paper Pom-Poms and Other Party Decorations by Juliet Carr
I chose to review Paper Pom-Poms and Other Party Decorations, 35 step-by-step projects to make with tissue, paper and card by Juliet Carr as I love crafting with tissue, paper and card and am always looking for new ideas...
After an introduction and explanation of materials and tools needed to create the pretty paper crafts the book is split into three chapters. Starting with 'Poms and Hanging decorations' where you learn how to make the classic paper poms, pretty pastel rosette snowflakes, bright colourful place setting daisies, cute mini pom cake toppers, horizontal fringe twists, rosette fans, metallic scored stars, upcycled newspaper honeycomb ball, hanging pom heart, 3 D star mobile and sparkly top hat Pinata.
The second chapter 'Garlands and Bunting' is full of craft tutorials to transform any room and give your party a great atmosphere from weddings, birthdays, holiday and baby showers. From the lovely leaves on twine to strings of twinkly cupcake flowers and the oh so popular fringe garlands.
The last chapter 'Centerpieces and Showstoppers' is about making big creative statements to add colour and glamour to venues, your home or for a party. Projects include giant roses, daffodils and cone flowers centerpiece along with mini mirror cake bunting and waxed floating lilies.
All the projects use a variety of paper materials, including tissue, card and crepe paper, patterned wrapping paper and magazine pages. No specialist craft experience is needed and all the projects are accompanied by step-by-step photos to guide you along the way.
Please note that my opinions are my own and I am not paid for these reviews (apart from receiving a free book, of course!).
Have a sweet day!
